Construction of 16 new homes is expected to begin at the end of September on vacant land at Catherine Street.
Building contractor Jack Lunn Ltd has been appointed to build the scheme by locally based social housing provider Arches Housing.
The mix of 2, 3 and 4 bed properties are hoped to be completed by mid-summer 2015, when they will be available for families to rent through the Council’s Choice Based Lettings system.
