During the summer holidays the Yemeni Community Association had a family funday at Fir Vale Community Centre.

The main goal was to get children out of the house, especially with the weather being so warm. YCA volunteers helped by working at the stalls and managing the music. Most of the items that stall workers had brought were from home, but the bouncy castle had been rented for the children.

The stalls were everywhere, including indoors. There was a lot of face painting, candy floss, barbecue food and ice cold drinks. There was also a place for all the worn out parents to sit. There was a huge bouncy castle for the kids to enjoy.

Usha Blackham and Nadeen Al Shaibi organised the event with support from the team at the YCA. Money from the event will go towards future activities at the Community Centre. Volunteers also give their own money just to make sure it keeps on rolling.

During the holidays the YCA organised two seaside trips for family and friends. There are always families requesting more trips. In August most of the people that attended had asked for more events for their children.
