Police cordon off Burngreave Road after stabbing

Burngreave Road was cordoned off for several hours on Friday 20th April, after a young man was stabbed. The Police told the Messenger,

“Officers are currently investigating a wounding, which occurred around 6.20pm on Friday 20 April 2012 in the Rock Street and Burngreave Road area of Sheffield. As a result, of the incident an 18-year-old man sustained a stab wound to his leg and chest.”

Police stated that the young man's injuries were “not believed to be life threatening” and they believe it was a targeted attack. As the Messenger goes to press the police had not made any arrests.

Anyone with any information about the incident or who believes they may have witnessed the incident are urged to contact South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 931 of Friday 20 April 2012. Alternatively, people can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
