Free meal at Burngreave Ashram

Story:Vivien Urwodhi

Burngreave Ashram and New Roots are providing free vegetarian meals for anyone who would like to sit and chat while enjoying some delicious food.

The meals are normally every Wednesday evening from 6pm.

The New Roots shop and café sell fairtrade, organic and wholefood products and fresh fruit. The aim is to promote ethical issues, highlight issues of justice and peace and provide a rich, common table for human togetherness.

New Roots at 80-86 Spital Hill provides volunteering opportunities and accommodation for its members and volunteers, and support for homeless people, refugees and asylum seekers.
