In May representatives of Fir Vale School attended a regional celebration to be presented with an ‘SSAT Educational Outcomes Award’ from the Schools, Students’ and Teachers’ Network (SSAT).

The award is given to schools that have made substantial improvements in their exam results through the hard work and enthusiasm of the school community. Fir Vale School is in the top 10% of schools nationally for the progress their pupils have made between Year 6 SATs and GCSEs.

Headteacher Breffni Martin told us “This prestigious award is not only a reflection on the hard work of staff and students but the incredible support of the community.”

Young Journalists at Fir Vale Academy Year 10 students will soon become budding journalists when Fir Vale teams up with the Messenger in Citizenship. They will get the chance to publish their articles and photos in our next issue, so watch this space.
