Story: St Cuthbert’s Church Fir Vale

On Friday September 13th, friends and members of St Cuthbert’s Church, Fir Vale, and local residents gathered for a ‘Ground-breaking Ceremony’ for a new £500K Community Centre extension at the Church.

Building work began in August and is projected to be completed by March 2014, giving a new community kitchen, toilets and meeting rooms for all the community.

Vicar Louise Collins spoke movingly about the need for initiatives based on friendship in and around Fir Vale. She looked forward to the day very soon when the Centre will be open for community friendship meals, cook-and-eat session and health and lifestyle support groups, with accessible facilities for all.
