Junoon can be found on Page Hall Road, it specialises in Gul-Ahmed clothing, a leading Pakistani designer. The store focuses on modern and fashionable clothing.

Shabana Shahid, mother of one, runs the new Asian tailoring and clothing boutique with her family, offering different styles of loose material as well as ready-made garments, both formal and casual. They also sell shoes and jewellery.

What does Junoon mean, and why did you choose to open your shop in this area?

‘‘Well, Junoon means ‘obsession’, and as we all know women have an obsession for clothes. Page Hall is becoming a scene for many Asian clothes shops. I felt that there was a need to have an outlet which caters for a younger generation of women.’’

What makes Junoon different to other clothes shops?

“We at Junoon have gone that extra mile to bring the latest designs, including Chiffon, Regalia, Chantilly De-lace and also the latest prints of Jersey and Cotton for everyday wear. We focus on the quality of clothing and have a range of different materials as well as Gul-Ahmed clothing, which is new to the area and exclusive to us.”

What did you do before the opening this shop?

‘‘I worked as a mortgage advisor and still do when I’m not here, but we run this shop as a family with everyone’s input, and I live locally so it makes things easier. I’ve always had a passion for clothing and the shop is result of that.”

Junoon is open 11am to 7pm Monday to Sunday, and also offers an in-house made to measure tailoring service.
