The Burngreave Sports Project is putting on two workshops run by Sports Coach UK that are vital for all sports coaches and assistants or anyone working with young people. Both of these workshops are three hours long (6–9pm) and are nationally-recognised qualifications. The first, Good Practice and Child Protection, is on 3rd October 2005, and the second, Equity in your coaching, is on 10th October 2005.

They will be run from Verdon Recreation Centre and will be free of charge to all, with childcare available on request. Places will be limited.

For more information or to book a place please contact the Burngreave Sports Project on 273 5719 or the Project Coordinator Michala Spacey on 0790 993 6381.

Sports Leaders UK are also running a Sports Leadership Award (Level 1) course for young people aged 14–16. The course takes place on the following dates:

Sat, 17th & 24th September 2005, 1st October 2005 (10am–4pm) Mon, 19th & 26th September 2005 (6–8pm)

The award is a nationally-recognised award and helps young people 14–16 develop their leadership skills. It’s a fun course where candidates learn through doing, rather than through written work.

Places on this course will be limited and you must attend all the dates to achieve the award. For more information or to book a place please contact the Burngreave Sports
