Firshill in bloom

Firshill Neighbourhood Watch ran a ‘Firshill in bloom’ gardening competition and judging was completed last week. The two judges, Martyn Parker from the horticultural department of Sheaf Training, and Christopher Bull from SUFC Academy groundstaff, were impressed by the effort local gardeners had made.

The overall winner was Mrs Betty Bower of Firshill Crescent, for her garden’s variety of colour and her obvious hard work. The winner in the small garden category was Mr Ben Keddey, also of Firshill Crescent, and the best balcony was agreed to be that of Mrs M Fisher of Firshill Rise.

The Neighbourhood Watch would like to thank everyone who entered and hope more people will enter next year. Prizes will be awarded at Roe Lane Community Centre on 10th October 2005 at 6.30pm.
