Whiteways Winter fayre

Story:Usha Blackham

Whiteways Primary School organised our first winter fayre for some time on Friday 11th December.

Every class in school was responsible for their own stall and there were some very enterprising ideas ranging from ‘Frozen’ themed buns to a tin knockdown, selling raffle tickets, hand-crafted soap bags and lots more! The children really enjoyed coming up with their own ideas for games and prizes and everyone had an amazing time.

There were also several community stalls. There was even a special appearance by Santa and his elves who took time out of their busy schedule to visit our grotto, which had been magically decorated by a small group of our parents.

Santa spent time asking what the children wanted for Christmas, giving gifts and having his photo taken with the children. Santa brought two reindeer with him, Perry and Elvis, who enjoyed meeting the children. The event proved extremely popular and the school raised over £1,300.
