Age Better Christmas lunch

Story:Nasreen Suleman

Age Better were on hand to host two free Christmas Day lunches for older people who would otherwise have spent the day alone.

Age Better in Sheffield aims to reduce loneliness and social isolation faced by people over 50. They are starting a campaign to recruit volunteers who will help co-design a toolkit.

Project Lead for Age Better in Sheffield, Gareth Parkin said: “We want the toolkit to be the thing that will break down barriers and get neighbours to start thinking about people who live in their area who may be isolated.”

Anyone interested in getting involved should contact Nasreen Suleman on 0114 270 2651 or email n.suleman@syha.co.uk. To find out more about the project visit https://www.agebettersheff.co.uk
