Petition against admissions policy proposed by Fir Vale School

Parents of children at local schools have started a petition against Fir Vale School's proposed admissions policy. Fir Vale school is currently consulting on the introduction of a new admissions policy which would use ‘fair banding’ to select students. More information can be found in ‘Fir Vale proposes admissions change’ from the February issue of the Burngreave Messenger and on the Fir Vale School website.

The parents' petition states:

“We, all the undersigned strongly oppose the admissions policy proposed by Fir Vale School. We want a public meeting with governors and senior leadership team to highlight the detrimental effect this policy will have on families, students and the community. We want to retain the local authority admissions policy which is currently used.”

Parents are asking petitions to be returned by Wednesday 19th February, and can be sent to the group via the Messenger office
