A Portable Ice Rink with Snow Machine and DJ was organised in December to reward children and young people from across Burngreave and Fir Vale for positive activities and for good behaviour throughout the year.

The event was organised jointly between Activity Sheffield projects. Michala Spacey, Burngreave Sports Development Project coordinator, said, “The event went fantastically and all the children loved it. Everyone was so well behaved for the whole day.”

Aislinn Adams from Verdon Junior Club said, “All the children really enjoyed it. It was so much fun.” Garfield Walters from Pye Bank Primary School said, “We hope it will encourage them to continue their positive behaviour”.

“I enjoyed it. It was the best thing in my life.” Luqman – Firshill School.

“I enjoyed it because I learned how to ice skate.” Shareen – Pye Bank School.

“I enjoyed it. Now I can do loads of tricks.This was my first time ice skating.” Whiteways Pupil

“I enjoyed the ice rink because it was fun and I fell over 5 times; it was funny.” St Catherine’s Pupil.

“I like it because it is safe.” Pye Bank School Pupil.
