The newly-licensed Normanton Inn, on Earldom Road, has been completely revamped with deluxe furnishing in the lounge and bar/pool room facilities.

“As well as the new décor to the lounge and bar area we’ve had both toilets refurbished,” explains Kay Wragg, the Normanton Inn’s licensee, who took on the pub just over a year ago and has turned it into a busy place that welcomes all the community.

The Normanton Inn also plays host to many nights of games and activities. “We have dominoes and crib all initiated into the Burngreave league, they play on a Tuesday,” adds Kay.

“We also have three pool teams on a Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday evening and darts and some times cards on Sunday afternoon.”

Kay also added smiling.

“All local people are welcome here of course, and what we endeavour to provide is a warm homely and friendly atmosphere.”

The Wednesday pool team won the league, months before the end of the season, having established an unbeatable lead. Team member Dennis Hindmarsh also won the singles title.

The Normanton Inn is open from 5pm till 12 midnight Monday to Thursday, 5pm till 1am on Friday, and 12 noon until 1am on both Saturday and Sunday. It serves a large selection of draught beers as well as the usual spirits and soft drinks. You can contact the pub on 272 4824.
