Skinnerthorpe makes the news

Skinnerthorpe Road
Skinnerthorpe Road

Residents of Skinnerthorpe Road were interviewed for a short documentary which featured on Channel Five News in December.

Documentary film maker Julia Armstrong spoke to women on Skinnerthorpe about the planned demolition of their homes. The three minute film was then shown along side four other short films as part of ‘Five Films’ a scheme which encourages emerging independent filmmakers to make their mark on Britain’s news.

Julia's film was commissioned after it was chosen by a panel of producers and news editors from DFG Films and Five News at the Sheffield Docfest Newcomers Day in November.

The film, called Moved On?, can be found on the Channel Five News website.
