Language Matters

Story: Mahmoud Brasab

Burngreave Language Support Agency (BLSA) organised a successful conference on 1st July at the Spectrum Centre.

There were two key note speakers, who talked about national and local issues, making people aware of the problems and aiming to break down language barriers.

The event was attended by almost 100 delegates representing various organisations, communities, and groups. Workshops included: Community language teaching, Health issues and interpreting and Translation and interpretation good practice. The participants were also given the opportunity to discuss issues and give feedback.

If you missed it this time don’t worry. Due to the demand and success of the conference it’s expected that there will be regular BLSA conferences.

BLSA is now offering translation and interpreting services and will cover all your language needs.

Open Monday to Friday, 9.00am–5.00pm. Or contact the team on 272 2833 or email: info@blsa.org.uk
