New nursery at Whiteways

Story & photo: Sarah Cooper

It was grey outside when Whiteways School opened its brand new nursery on 13th September but inside it was bright and cheery, with children busily exploring colourful things.

Opened in response to rising birth rates, both Whiteways and Owler Brook now take children from nursery age to Year 6. The new nursery has space for 52 children.

Parents I spoke to were delighted with the brand new equipment and building: “Absolutely gorgeous,” said Gracie’s mum when I asked what she thought of it. Nazia, mother of Fahd, commented,

“My daughter’s at school here but I was having to take my son to Sure Start. It’s so much easier now there’s a nursery here.”

There are still spaces at the nursery – please call Whiteways School on 0114 242 3169.
