Buses Better?

The Messenger first reported on the ‘Better Buses’ scheme in April 2006. Nearly five months after its launch in November 2007, one of our volunteers took a ride along the new bus route and asked passengers for their views on the bus service and the changes that have been made along the route.

Events at Longley Park Sixth Form College’s Equality and Diversity Week (4th to 8th February 2008) ranged from cultural representation and finding out about sensory impairment to disability and sexuality awareness to gospel choir singing in the plaza.

The New Deal funded £4.5 million refurbishment of Sorby House was completed in November last year, but it still stands empty.

Sorby House is meant to play a huge role in transforming the image of Burngreave as a place to live and work. However what it remains unclear what is been happening currently in Sorby House.
