On Sunday 15th June 2008, Race 4 Life will be held at Don Valley Stadium in Sheffield. This is a 5km jog or walk to support the work of Cancer Research and the special thing about this ‘race’ is that everyone entering is female.

Each Wednesday afternoon a group of ladies meet at Verdon Recreation Centre to do some training. The age of this group ranges from mid-twenties to sixtyplus, all with varying levels of fitness and each with their own reason for completing this physical challenge. Some of the ladies want to help raise money for the charity while improving their own fitness and gaining a sense of achievement. Most of the women know someone who has experienced cancer so they want to remember them and raise awareness.
