I spoke to participants at Swamp Circus Trust’s ‘Circus Skills & Community Leadership’ course, currently running at SADACCA on The Wicker in association with the Point Blank Theatre Company. I was struck by the positive impact this course has had on their lives, and so here, in their own words, is their story.

“I found out about the course at SADACCA. I’m really enjoying it and I’d certainly recommend it.” – Musa

“In the three sessions I’ve been to, I’ve already formed a bond with the other people here. It’s all very exciting. It’s built my confidence, it’s challenging, and it’s a great opportunity to learn new skills and discover hidden talents.” – Molly

“The course has helped me to get more involved in the community. I used to be involved in youth work and so on, but not for a while.” – Charlie

“I went to see Swamp Circus Trust perform at The Crucible, so that made me want to come. I’m just here for some fun!” – Ruth

“I’ve actually bought myself some devil sticks, which I’m hoping to get better at using. Being here has helped raise my confidence.” – Darren

“My girlfriend gave me a flyer about this course so that’s how I knew about it. The skills I’m learning here will help me with my performances.” – Kergun
