Bonfire night was celebrated magnificently here in Burngreave on the 3rd November at Petre Street as a small fair ended with spectacular fireworks taking place on the field. There was a great turnout considering the cold weather, with approximately 2000 people.

This social event consisted of different rides, a small stage on which young performers and local musicians performed and some great food to top it all up.

More importantly though, everyone was having a laugh, eating, or admiring some of the musicians up on stage, which created a warmer atmosphere and had everyone sticking around till the very end. The firework display at the end was awesome, lasting for around ten minutes.

It had everyone looking up at the sky in amazement as the display included some of the most spectacular fireworks we had ever seen, reaching great heights and displaying the greatest of colours and shapes.

This article originally said ‘approximately 150-200 people’ attended the event. Organisers informed us the attendance was likely to be close to 2000 people.
