The Lord Mayor, Councillor Jackie Drayton, placed the first petals on the central panel of the well dressing in Burngreave cemetery at the end of July, in the second year of the event.

Other volunteers completed the flowers and trees surrounding the war memorial depicted and children from Firs Hill and Byron Wood schools created bird-themed panels which were displayed in the chapel alongside an exhibition commemorating the 90th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme
