Opened just last month by manager Rissam, Gold Fingers is a brand new hairdressing salon for men and women, just up the hill behind the Kashmir Curry House, on Spital Street.

The salon is bright and welcoming, offering the usual cutting and styling, perming, braiding, extensions, colouring and tinting.

And there will shortly be a team of three stylists to join Rissam in the salon. Prices start at £3.50 for a child’s hair cut, £5.00 for men and starting from £15 for a cut and blow dry for women.

Rissam told me.

“We also do perms for children and half-price haircuts for over 60s,”

Rissam (also known as ‘Frenchie’ as he came to England from France a couple of years ago) has plenty of experience working in the hairdressing profession.

Before moving into his own premises, he recently worked in Spital Hill Plaza but he has also quite an international repertoire, having worked in France, Belgium and Algeria.

Rissam told me

“I came as a student to Sheffield originally,” and when I moved to Pitsmoor,I really liked the sense of community here. So I’ve stayed. And already I have my faithful customers coming to the new business.”
