Volunteers, community groups and local workers from Burngreave were celebrated at a special Town Hall event on 25th February.

Hosted by the Lord Mayor, Talib Hussain, and local ward councillors, over 130 people came to see 43 nominees receive awards for their commitment and outstanding contributions to the Burngreave community.

Local resident Graham Jones said: “I felt very proud to live in Burngreave. There was a real buzz on the evening. It reflected all that is best in Burngreave.”

The Friends of Burngreave Library received an award, as did the 76th Sheffield St Peter’s Ellesmere Scout Group, and children from Pitsmoor Adventure Playground who have done local litter picks.
