The Taekwondo students at Verdon Recreation Centre have excelled again. On the weekend of 8th and 9th May 2010 two students passed their Dan grading (exam) which was held in Mansfield.

To achieve this grade the students increased their training from one day to three days per week.

The following students were awarded the following Dan grades:

  • Ray Richards: 2nd Dan

  • Sammy Noor: 1st Dan

Pilsung Taekwondo club is on Tuesdays 6pm to 8pm & Fridays 6pm-7.30pm, Under 18’s £2.00, over 18’s £3.00

Other sessions at Verdon Street include:

  • Step Class –Tues 6.30 – 7.30pm, £1.50

  • Aerobics – Weds 4.45 -5.45pm, £1.50

  • Aerobics – Thurs 6.30 – 7.30pm, £1.50

  • Play Rangers– Weds 4 – 5pm, 8 to 16yrs.

The Centre is planning to start a users group, to help maintain and increase activities at the centre. The first meeting will be held in June 2010. Contact Verdon Recreation Centre on 249 1626
