Young Men jailed for Tarek

On 6th August 2009, four young men were jailed for killing Tarek Chaiboub, who was shot dead on Spital St in July 2008.

All four were given life sentences, with minimum terms set by the court before they can be considered for parole. Junior Ramsey, said to have masterminded the killing even though he was already in jail, got 35 years. Michael Chattoo was believed to have fired the bullet and he got a minimum of 30 years. Levan Menzies, only 17, and Denzil Ramsey will both have to serve at least 25 years.

Tarek was killed five days after being badly stabbed outside his home on 6th July 2008. Michael Chattoo and Javan Galloway were also convicted of the stabbing and Javan was sentenced to 9 years.
