The summer’s young firefighter’s course really put two groups of young people through their paces, testing their skills to the limits. The final display after 5 days of training showed their friends and family it had all been worth it.

The day started with cleaning the fire engines, followed by a series of challenges where the young people pitched their skills against the retired firemen who had been coaching them all week. They performed different life-saving scenarios, in full fire fighting suits, which included rescuing a crash victim from a car and rescuing a baby from burning gas bottles.

Though no-one’s life was really in danger, the young people showed professionalism and seriousness throughout, earning their awards at the end of the day.
