Job: Advice Team Leader

The Yemeni Welfare and Advice Centre seeks an advice team leader to join a dynamic staff team at the Yemeni Community Association who are committed to delivering high quality services across a range of areas.

Advice Team Leader

SUG5 , presently £21,412, pro rata, (16 hours) plus 8.25% pension

Presently funded to March 2009

The successful candidate will have:

  • Excellent communications skills in English and Arabic

  • Experience of welfare benefits advice;

  • A willingness to tackle areas beyond their experience, e.g. overseas pensions

  • The ability to supervise the work of others; and ensure that high quality advice services meet the needs of the whole community.

Duties to include:

  • Delivering generalist advice sessions

  • Ensuring systems and procedures meet the Legal Services Commission/Community Legal Services Quality Mark

  • Supervising, training and supporting other advice staff and volunteers
