BCR back on air

Burngreave Community Radio (BCR) failed to make it on air in June, after OFCOM turned down their application for a license.

The station was planning to transmit between 25th June and 22nd July with about £18,000 of funding from New Deal as part of their elections project. OFCOM can only offer BCR the license from 15th July, but this is too late for the NDC elections, so it looked like BCR would stay off air this year.

Now with the help of local sponsorship and £1,900 from New Deal the whole show is back on! BCR will have the bare minimum needed to buy the license, and they will be looking for support through volunteers and sponsorship. If you can help contact Aisha Special K on 0773 987 8596 or aishaspecialk_sct@hotmail.com.

BCR will be on air 15th July–11th August on 87.7FM.
