Planning app for Parkwood Landfill

The Friends of Parkwood Springs are looking at a new planning application about the Parkwood landfill site. Viridor has submitted its application for the restoration of the landfill site.

As anyone following the news from the Friends Group will know, the landfill site is now closed for “active” waste, although Viridor still need to bring on “inert” waste (such as soil) to cap the site and get the contours. The restoration is really important for the long-term future of Parkwood Springs.

The application is now online, at

http://publicaccess.sheffield.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do ?activeTab=documents& keyVal=NEGYSJNY0JJ00

There are 38 documents, although paper copies are available at Howden House if anyone wants to consult them.

The Friends Of Parkwood Springs plans to hold a meeting – likely to be in January – to consider the plans and draw up a response.

The deadline for comments to the Council is Friday January 23rd.
