Job: Receptionist/Lunchtime Playleader

Our school is in the process of expansion, we are looking for a new member of staff to work with both our Admin team and with our Lunchtime team. We don’t currently have a Receptionist, this is a new post. We will have a community centre on our site from September, the postholder will work with the Admin team to provide support for this as well as for the school. The work will include:

  • Operating a switchboard, making and receiving calls

  • Attending the Reception desk, receiving visitors and arranging hospitality

  • Receiving and forwarding emails and other electronic communications

  • Typing letters and documents, photocopying and other admin duties as required

As well as admin duties, the postholder will work with the Lunchtime team to provide a safe and happy lunchtime experience for all of our children. This will include:

  • Working in the dining rooms, helping children if they need it, supervising children and providing behaviour management, as well as keeping the area clean and safe

  • Working in the playground, playing with the children and making sure that they have a happy and productive lunchtime break

  • Working at the First Aid post, providing support for children when necessary

We are looking for someone who likes to work in a child-centred environment, with experience of clerical/reception work. The successful candidate will be computer literate and have experience of using Microsoft Office. Knowledge of SIMS.net would be an advantage.

There are 2 posts, the hours of work will be:

  • Post 1 – Monday to Friday during term time from 8am to 1pm (25 hours per week)

  • Post 2 – Monday to Friday during term time from 12noon to 8pm (37 hours per week)

Both postholders will work with the Lunchtime team every day between 12noon and 1pm.

Salary is Scale 3 – £15,570 to £16,663 pro rata

  • Post 1 is equivalent to 56.3% of full time salary

  • Post 2 is equivalent to 83.3% of full time salary
