St Caths Logo

Our school is in the process of expansion, we are looking for a new member of staff to work with both our Premises team and with our Lunchtime team. We don’t currently have a cleaner working during the day, this is a new post. We will have a community centre on our site from September, and some areas within it will need to be cleaned during the day, as well as areas within school. The work will include:

  • Cleaning toilets, vacuuming and sweeping indoor areas of school and the community centre

  • Using a buffer or other machinery to clean floors

  • Cleaning fridges and wiping tables

As well as cleaning duties, the postholder will work with the Lunchtime team to provide a safe and happy lunchtime experience for all of our children. This will include:

  • Working in the dining rooms, helping children if they need it, supervising children and providing behaviour management, as well as keeping the area clean and safe

  • Working in the playground, playing with the children and making sure that they have a happy and productive lunchtime break

  • Working at the First Aid post, providing support for children when necessary

We are looking for someone who likes to work in a child-centred environment, preferably with some cleaning experience and some knowledge of Health and Safety at work.

The hours of work will be 16.5 per week, Monday to Friday during term time from 11am to 2pm (3.30pm on Friday). Lunchtime duty will be from approximately 12noon to 1pm.

£12,160 pro rata

The post is equivalent to 37.16% of full time salary

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare and safety of children and young people and expect all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced CRB check is required for this post. In addition, all staff are expected to fully support the Catholic ethos of the school.
