On Thursday August 14th an event took place to Celebrate Pakistan Independence Day at Eastern Eye Takeaway and Restaurant in Fir Vale.

Raja Mohammed Akram owner of Eastern Eye said, “We have been celebrating Pakistan Independence Day for the last 20 years.” Over 100 people attended the celebration including the local councillor Ibrar Hussain and also other residents from different ethnic backgrounds who enjoyed the free food supplied by Eastern Eye.

Raja Mohammed Akram said,

“I don’t want people to forget this day. We wanted people from other ethnic backgrounds to know about this event and also bring unity amongst the community
