Media workshops hit the headlines

Representatives from community groups in Burngreave got a taste of the media spotlight thanks to some exciting workshops.

The interactive sessions, organised by BNDfC at the newly refurbished Vestry Hall, were designed for local community groups to learn more about the importance of dealing with the media.

Delegates got first hand experience of how to let the media know about their successes and achievements including the fundamentals of writing press releases and top tips for dealing with the broadcast media.

Alexis Cowan, Extended School Support Worker at Byron Wood Primary School, said: “I really enjoyed it and found it very useful.”

Philip Strafford, Employer Liaison Officer at Forum House, said: “The session was really good – I hope you can do a follow on session!”

If anyone is interested in attending further media workshops please contact Alison Reid at BNDfC on 0114 279 6936 or email AlisonReid@bndfc.co.uk to register your interest.
