Women only swimming baths with "male guards"

I am a 14 year old girl that really enjoys swimming, but I can’t go to my local swimming baths because on ‘women’s only’ days they sometimes have male life-guards operating. For a young Muslim girl we should not be swimming half naked in front of men.

What could we do?

We should have the right to go to the baths and swim freely, and having male guards at the baths is making that simple right nearly impossible. I wish to be able to book the swimming baths and have women lifeguards available.

As young Asian women we find it difficult to stay healthy and take part in healthy activities. I would like to see more women’s only timeslots at the baths and also at Ponds Forge.

Has anyone out there also found the same problem? Write to the new youth page at the Messenger. Maybe together we can make a difference!
