The Editorial

Burngreave residents will welcome the start of work on the Vestry Hall this month, as they see workers in hard hats scurrying around the site.

At the same time, with over £10 million of the dwindling New Deal money committed to buildings and other capital projects, some eyebrows will be raised as the programme adds Forum House to its expanding property portfolio, with few details available about how these assets will be owned or run after the end of the programme.

Congratulations this month go to Messenger admin worker Farzana Ahmed and her husband Tanveer on the birth of their first child, a boy, on 5th February.

Also to Mark Lankshear, Messenger project manager and his partner Charlotte on the birth of Joe (pictured), 81⁄2 pounds, on 16th February.
