Fifty-five people attended the Annual General Meeting of the newly re-opened Kurdish Community Centre (KCC), on 30th April 2006, electing eight people to their Management Committee. KCC has already been running an English class three days a week and has offered advice and support to over 400 people since it reopened in January. They have ambitious plans to organise various Kurdish cultural activities and to become a base for the local Kurdish football team.

The KCC is at 163 Verdon Street. All communities are welcome. Open: 10am–2pm, Monday–Wednesday. Phone: 279 5318 or 0770 426 6613 out of office hours, or email: kurdishcentre@yahoo.co.uk.
