Year Five Plans

Forward plans for New Deal year five spending.

Environment – £4.6 million

Includes £2.1 million investment in the Spital Hill ‘public realm’, including a market on Ellesmere Green, £2.3 million to renovate the Vestry Hall as a Learning Centre with theatres and high-tech media facilities and Sorby House to provide more services for the community as well as Spital Hill renewal and maintenance, other environmental maintenance and improvement, community involvement and recycling projects.

Housing – £575k

Includes the transport strategy and housing work

Education – £1.1 million

Includes a wide range of study support projects, work with excluded children, sports, language support, Community Learning Campaign and other adult education initiatives.

Overarching – £1.2 million

Includes communications, children and young people, arts, community engagement and events.

Crime – £585k

Includes New Deal Police team, Wardens, Anti-social Behaviour Team, Domestic Abuse Project and community and home safety projects.

Employment & Enterprise – £790k

Includes Apprentice and ILM schemes, a range of training, job and career support, small business support and the Language Support Agency.

Health – £430k

Includes Drugs Project, support and advocacy and health promotion projects.
