Ellesmere News & Food

24–26 Ellesmere Road

Mr Hussein Abdullah took over as proprietor of Clark’s newsagent less than a year ago, and he has expanded the services provided. Mr Abdullah has invested in a Pay Point facility for the purchase of essential gas and electricity credits (amidst other utility payments). Ellesmere News & Food also supply access to a cash dispenser. “This I know has become a real commodity to the people of Burngreave,” explains Mr Abdullah, “Because it’s so busy, I can’t always keep it stocked up.” Continental fruits, yam, green bananas and plantain are sold alongside many other traditional English fruits, tinned foods, sweets, newspapers and magazines. Towards the rear of the shop is the halal meat and poultry counter clearly observed by Ellesmere News & Food’s full security CCTV surveillance.
