The Landfill planning application

Following the discussion at the last meeting of the Friends of Parkwood Springs, the group have now put in their response to Viridor's planning application for the restoration of the Landfill site.

After the closing date for comments (this Friday) there may well be discussions between City Council planning officers and Viridor and the results will be brought to a meeting of the Council's Planning and Highways Committee in March. The Friends group will report on the decisions made in due course.

Forthcoming events

The next Workday is on

Saturday 31st January at 10am – 12 noon, meeting at the Sculpture car park on Cooks Wood Road/Shirecliffe Road.

Providing the weather is good enough, it's a good opportunity to do some tidying up before the vegetation starts sprouting for spring. If you arrive late, please ring on 0777 156 4883 to find us.

The next Friends Group meeting is on

Tuesday February 3rd at 7pm at St Catherines School, Firshill Crescent, S4 7BX.

There won't be any news on the planning application then, but there are a lot of other things for discussion, including activities for 2015.

All are welcome at these activities.
