Pitsmoor Adventure Playground Users Group is setting up a new management body to take over management of Pitsmoor Adventure Playground from Sheffield City Council.
They are wanting to recruit 3 experienced playworkers, who will work as a team alongside the Adventure Playground Play Manager during playground opening hours
They are looking for the following:
A playworker with a level 3 NVQ Playwork qualification
Salary scale NJC scp 22 £10.30 hour
Actual salary £9,641 18 hours/week (4 sessions + planning, prep & team meetings)
A playworker with a level 2 NVQ Playwork qualification
Salary scale NJC scp 19 £9.35 hour
Actual salary £8,747 18 hours/week (4 sessions + planning, prep & team meetings)
A playworker with a level 2 NVQ Playwork qualification
Salary scale NJC scp 19 £9.35 hour
actual salary £7,046 14.5 hours/week (3 sessions + planning, prep & team meetings)
During term time the playground is open after school and during the evenings Tuesdays – Saturdays and from 12:00pm on Saturdays.
During school holidays, weekday session times are during the day and there may be additional hours available.
The main purpose of the job is to facilitate stimulating opportunities for free play and recreational activities for children and young people attending Pitsmoor Adventure Playground, actively listening and responding to children and young people’s needs
The successful candidates will have experience of working, paid or unpaid, in an open access adventure playground and of working with children in a diverse and multi-racial community.
We are looking for playworkers with a positive attitude, able to engage with and form positive relationships with children, young people and their families. You will be expected to work within the playwork principles and have an enthusiasm for child led, child centered adventure play.
We anticipate the starting date will be in April, however this is dependent on the agreed date for transfer of the Adventure Playground to the new management body.
