The Governors of Pye Bank Church of England Primary School are seeking to appoint a well motivated, honest, reliable, enthusiastic and conscientious person who is able to use their own initiative in carrying out a wide range of duties to be part of the staff team at our school. The school is in the Burngreave area of the city. The house is detached with a fairly large kitchen and living room, 3 bedrooms, large bathroom. The house has a garden and off street parking.

The successful candidate will be required to develop good working relationships with the children, staff, parents, local residents, contractors, SCC departments and visitors to the school, and must have a genuine concern for maintaining the buildings and site as a safe, secure and clean school environment.

Duties include security of the premises, procurement of services, maintenance of fixtures and fittings and a limited amount of cleaning. Applicants should have a good knowledge of building maintenance and preferably have some experience in this area (e.g. plumbing/carpentry skills). They should also have a good awareness of health and safety regulations and be able to respond to emergencies effectively. A willingness to undertake training when necessary is also essential. Potential candidates should note that this is a residential position. It is a contractual requirement that the post holder resides in the house provided for the better performance of his/her duties.

There will be a deduction from salary of £213.53 month for the rent of a 3 bedroom house. Additionally £50.31 per month will be deducted for water and sewage charges (water rates). Total deduction therefore for rent and water/sewage will be £263.84 per month.  Rent/water rates charges will be reviewed from time to time in proportion to Council House rents. The Building Supervisor will be responsible for payment of Council Tax. The house is currently in Council Tax Band A.
