Meet the Spital Hill Sculptor

Local people are invited to a special event at Vestry Hall on Thursday 7th March where they can meet the sculptor Michael Johnson and find out how to get involved in the project to create artworks for Spital Hill and Ellesemere.

The commission to create art for the area is part of a wider programme of Council renovation work, which includes improvements to the area of public space at Ellesmere Green, the paved area next to Vestry Hall and the pavements down to Caborn's Corner next to the East House.

Michael will be displaying examples of his work as well as talking to people about the processes he uses. Details of upcoming practical sessions and community workshops will also be available.

The event runs from 3-7pm and is open to all.

For more details about Michael Johnson's work see his website:
