Police appeal for witnesses after 9-year-old girl injured on Pitsmoor Road

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 9-year-old girl was hit by a car on Tuesday afternoon.(9th July)

At approximately 4.50pm, a silver Vauxhall Astra was travelling along Pitsmoor Road towards the city centre.

At the same time, a single decker bus pulled out of the junction from Nottingham Street onto Pitsmoor Road, travelling in the opposite direction to the Astra.

The 9-year-old girl is believed to have stepped out from behind the bus and walked into the path of the Astra.

She sustained a broken arm and cuts to the head and was taken to hospital.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident is asked to contact the police on 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111, quoting incident number 805 of 09/07/2013.
