Free Early Learning for 2 year olds

All children aged 3 or 4 are entitled to 15 hours a week at nursery free of charge. Now this is being extended to 2-year-olds from lowincome families.

Going to nursery helps a child’s development and wellbeing and gives them a head start for when they go to school. Children do better by going to nursery than staying at home – and it gives parents a break too. The nurseries below offer places in Burngreave and can help parents through the process of applying for the funding from the Council.

The places for two-year-olds are available to families on means-tested benefits or incomes below £16,100 a year. The places are for parents in or out of work.

Places for 3 or 4 year olds are available to all.
