Parkwood Springs Guided Walks

The Full Monty Walk

Thursday 17th May 2012

Meeting at 5.50pm (in town) or 6.10pm (at Parkwood Springs)

This is a 3 mile walk with Sheffield Walking Group (20s-30's) but all are welcome. It is part of the Walk Sheffield walking festival. You can keep your hat (and everything else!) on for this linear walk exploring a few of the Full Monty film locations in the Hillsborough and Langsett area. From Parkwood Springs we'll come down to Infirmary Rd, up to Ruskin Park, finishing at the Burton St Foundation where a number of scenes were filmed. Some uneven downhill paths and some uphills. Finishing at the New Barrack Tavern for food / drinks.

Start: Shirecliffe Rd/Cooks Wood Road (entrance to Parkwood Springs) End: New Barrack Tavern, Penistone Rd

Transport: Meet at Arundel Gate Bus Interchange in good time to catch the No. 72 Bus to Pitsmoor leaving at 5.50pm. Or meet at 6.10pm at the walk start. Please check the Sheffield Walking Group website http://www.sheffieldwalkinggroup.org.uk/walks for transport changes nearer the time.

Leader: Ruth Thomas

Another Side of Parkwood Springs

Thursday 17th May 2012

Meeting at 6.40pm (in town) or 7.00pm (at Pitsmoor Post Office)

A 4 mile circular walk, again part of Walk Sheffield, this time with Sheffield Group of the Ramblers. All are welcome. We will explore some of the less-visited parts of Parkwood Springs, starting and finishing at Pitsmoor Post Office, Burngreave Road. There will be a steep and rough descent, so stout shoes needed – walking boots preferred. Meet at Arundel Gate mini-interchange to catch the 18:46 76 Ecclesfield bus to Pitsmoor Post Office, or meet at the Post Office for a prompt 7pm start. Leader: Neill Schofield
