Appeal for witnesses - accident near Firs Hill School

The Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly man was hit by a HGV truck on the crossing near Firs Hill School.

The incident happened just before midday on Thursday 8th March. The 92 year old man was in a mobile scooter when he was hit by the truck, causing life-threatening injuries. Barnsley Road was closed fro several hours and traffic was diverted.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with information call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 366 of 8 March 2012.
