Wanted: Volunteers age 16-25 for Right Here Sheffield

Right Here is working alongside people aged 16-25 to explore ways to support young people’s well-being, in particular how to cope when life is getting you down.

Right Here wants to work with

  • Young people not in education, employment or training,

  • Teenage/Young parents

  • BME young people

Our focus will be:-

1) Mental health promotion: Helping young people and parents to understand what mental ill health is, looking at the stigma around mental health and campaigns with young people.

2) Prevention: Working with young people to build coping skills, resilience and ways of supporting each other.

3) Early Intervention: Working with partners to make mental health services more young person friendly, care pathways less complicated for young people and to produce better service information for staff, young people and parents.

This is just the beginning. We want to work with young people and local workers to design activities that young people are going to value and use.
