            Less than a mile north of Sheffield city centre lies a vast area of open land, almost as big as the city centre itself. Yet few people know of Parkwood Springs, its secret places and its enormous potential as a country park in the city. October 2009 issue.

              The good folk who braved the showers on June 6th 2009 to join the Parkwood Springwatch weren’t disappointed by a bit of bad weather. The stars of the show were the birds of prey, whose impeccable behaviour gave everyone a close encounter with giants of the bird world. Members of the public enjoy nature in Parkwood Srings.

              Green woodworking skills – bodging – were learnt by 220 children in the great outdoors of Parkwood in a hive of craft activity between the 8th and 11th of June 2009.
