Wicker stabbing

The Wicker was cordoned off this morning, Monday 9th November, following reports of a stabbing the early hours of the morning. The incident was in the Wicker Lane area. The Wicker was closed to through traffic, causing serious disruption for buses and other vehicles. Pedestrians complained of the extra cars swamping the junctions.

Police on site indicated that the area would be closed for a couple of hours whilst forensics carried out tests but that the stabbing was not fatal.

Local shops and businesses were closed as owners were unable to get in until police lift the cordon.
